Ms Veronica understands from experience both the desire for education and the enormous hurdles girls face in securing their right to education. In a spirit of solidarity with those facing the same struggles she has overcome, she co-founded Joy Makers Charity Foundation to help the vulnerable poor children, youth and women. Veronica has a strong passion for children especially children from a poor background since that’s how she grew up as well. As a result, she feels it’s her turn to give back now and to help these children with a better education.
Her passion and desire to spread joy to the needy also stems from her belief that every human being has a right to the most basic necessities and opportunities in life. Influenced by her grandmother who has dedicated her career to caring for orphaned and vulnerable children, and her father who has an unwavering passion for helping the needy and disadvantaged, she developed a sense of responsibility and a passion for improving the lives of others at a young age.
A teacher by profession, Veronica has dedicated her life to grooming and nurturing children. She has taught at St Mary’s primary School in Mwanza, Tanzania and Sipto Primary School in Iringa, Tanzania.
Veronica holds a Bachelor of Applied Social Science with Specialization in Community Development from Damelin College, in Johannesburg, South Africa, a Diploma in Early Childhood Development from St Mary’s Teachers’ College, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
